The Choptank River on Maryland’s Eastern shore provides a scenic setting for Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina. Spanning 342 acres, the region’s first full-service, year-round resort boasts an 18-acre nature preserve as well as a generous 42,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
The design of the six-story property maximizes natural light and abundant water views. Groups choose from two ballrooms at 11,259 and 4,860 square feet, as well as five additional meeting rooms that divide into two or three sections each. The elegant, wood-paneled Brigantine Boardroom hosts executive meetings for up to 12. In all function areas, high-speed Internet access, state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, and on-site technical assistance come standard.
Outdoors, the 5,000-square-foot Regatta Pavilion offers a charming venue for theme parties and alfresco breakfasts. Beach and poolside settings, as well as numerous patios, accommodate any size gathering for receptions or catered affairs. Not surprisingly, the resort’s six restaurants focus on seafood specialties, while the place for evening cocktails remains Michener’s Library—a spectacular lounge with a two-story glass wall, stone fireplaces, and an outdoor firepit.
To ensure after-hours fun, the Conference Service Department creates customized activity programs with team-building offerings, tournaments, and spouse and children’s events. Favorite diversions include player-friendly golf at the River Marsh Golf Club, fishing and sailing excursions launching from the 150-slip marina, and rejuvenating, marine-themed treatments at the Stillwater Spa.

The staff at the Hyatt were fabulous to work with and made our conference a successful and enjoyable event The facilities worked out perfectly for our conference and offered many activities outside of the conference for attendees to do, whether individually or in a group. I highly recommend considering the Hyatt for any event.

As a native of Maryland, the hotel is nice and so are the grounds, but the surroundings are limited, unless you head into Talbot County, which is about a 15-20 minute drive. That's where you'll find the variety of wonderful local restaurants and boutiques, galleries, etc. that are worth the trip.

From the day they opened their doors in 2002, The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay has been the site of our Annual Incentive Conference. Attendance of our event has grown significantly due to Hyatt’s ability to accommodate all our needs.

Johns Hopkins doctors and Hyatt experts to lead events on healthy cooking, heart disease prevention, couples massage and more
CAMBRIDGE, Md. - (January 14, 2008) - Couples massage, healthy cooking, heart disease prevention and more ways to be your best...Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina's Wellness Weekends are the healthy way to beat the winter blahs. The luxurious four-diamond resort, in partnership with doctors from Johns Hopkins Medicine, is sponsoring two Wellness Weekends during the months of February and March 2008. Specialists with the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Hyatt's own experts will lead the weekends, which focus on the themes of "How to be A Heart Healthy Woman" and "Couples Keeping Healthy."
"Our resort is home to an indoor pool, fitness facility, the Stillwater Spa and more, that demonstrate our strong commitment to health and wellness, and make our partnership with Johns Hopkins a natural fit," said Fred Findlen, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort. "Guests attending the weekends will have a great time and come away with valuable tips on how to increase everyday wellness."
Ideal for a girlfriends getaway, the "How to be a Heart Healthy Woman" Wellness Weekend kicks off on Saturday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m. with an interactive seminar led by Erin Michos, MD, a cardiologist from Johns Hopkins. Dr. Michos will provide easy tips on how to beat heart disease, along with diet and exercise advice. She'll also lead participants through a unique heart disease screening process, designed to ascertain current level of disease risk. During the lunch hour, Tony Breeze, executive chef of the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, will give a cooking demonstration on healthy cuisine. After the demo, guests will be invited to stay and enjoy the dishes during a special two-course lunch. For the final activity of the day, attendees can get moving with a primer on Pilates, a form of exercise designed to build a healthier mind, body and spirit, and other stress reducing activities that promote a strong heart.
The "Couples Keeping Healthy" Wellness Weekend features a program on Saturday, March 15 that demonstrates ways partners can encourage and keep each other going on a healthy path. Dominique Ashen, Ph.D., CRNP at the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease, starts the day with an interactive discussion on healthy actions couples can take together such as exercising, eating well and other preventive measures. At 3:00 p.m. couples will learn how to help each other de-stress through fun, practical massage techniques during a special session at the Stillwater Spa. And from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., couples will be invited to watch Chef Breeze cook up a wholesome supper and hear his tips on working together in the kitchen. Dishes demonstrated will be served at a dinner following the session at 7:00 p.m.
The Wellness Weekend package starts at $169 per night, based on double occupancy, and includes the cost of the seminars, with exception of meals. The February 9 lunch is $30 per person and the March 15 dinner is $50 per person and includes a glass of wine. Meal prices are exclusive of tax and gratuity. Non-hotel guests may attend the Saturday sessions at a cost of $25 per day, exclusive of meals. Reservations are recommended.
