Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas and Spa

Sparkling lagoons, swaying palms, and views of the Santa Rosa Mountains surround the deluxe accommodations and group facilities at Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas and Spa. A recipient of the AA Four Diamond Award for over 20 years, the resort welcomes attendees to the prestigious enclave of Indian Wells, just minutes from Palm Springs
and the desert’s natural wonders.

Large groups convene in the Indian Wells Conference Center with two ballrooms and a stateof- the-art banquet kitchen. Numerous gardens and terraces overlook a lake on the eighteenth green of the neighboring Indian Wells Golf Resort, home of two 18-hole championship courses. For small to midsize gatherings, meeting space on the main building’s second floor includes a third ballroom, breakout rooms and boardrooms, and a covered terrace for catered events.

Whatever the venue, Hyatt’s professional planners and technicians ensure that everything runs smoothly. Intriguing corporate games build team unity and break the ice, and spouses appreciate events like afternoon teas and dinner dances. A private, adults-only pool boasts cabanas with TVs and Wi-Fi, while the Agua Serena Spa, where all treatment rooms have terraces and outdoor showers, delivers premier pampering as well as antiaging treatments.

Though all of the resort’s rooms and suites feature top-drawer amenities and private balconies or patios, the ultimate luxury waits in 43 villas—each with its own courtyard, whirlpool spa, barbecue, and personal butler service.

Unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on and it deterred from the beauty of the grounds and the golf course but overall it was a nice experience.

First, pulling up to the Hyatt is quite a pleasure for the eyes. The grounds are spectacularly well kept. And everywhere I turned, the staff was helpful without being overly solicitous— they all seemed genuinely happy to be there.

INDIAN WELLS, CA. " February 7, 2008 "Today Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas and Spa officially introduced its new restaurant, Lantana. Located off the main lobby at the resort, the restaurant offers residents and guests a contemporary atmosphere with chic and stylish design and dcor.

While providing breakfast, lunch and dinner, Lantanas diverse menu items " presenting the freshest in meat, poultry, seafood and produce " are infused with herbs, spices, and delicate flavors. For evening guests, sumptuous dinner entres are highlighted, along with elegant desserts, providing a memorable evening in a sophisticated setting.

Lantanas welcoming entrance leads guests to posh new chairs, armchairs, and banquettes upholstered in understated brown and green geometric patterns, set around cutting-edge tables with smart new wood and stainless steel center insets. Contemporary accents, bold geometric designs and lighting fixtures throughout the restaurant offer visitors a sophisticated yet intimate setting. Guests can also enjoy heated outdoor terrace seating overlooking the Indian Wells Golf Resort 10th Fairway.

The restaurant features a new dramatic state-of-the-art stainless steel kitchen with black granite countertops and backdrops of iridescent tiles in a pallet of turquoise, gray and blue glass mosaic surrounding an innovative open-air kitchen. Centerpiece to the open-air kitchen is the mesquite burning grille and wood-burning oven.

In addition, a remarkable stainless steel wine cellar is showcased inside Lantana, and includes dual-temperature zones with a tempered- glass door displaying the restaurants mature wine library highlighting Californian, Italian and French vintages.

The restaurant was named by Indian Wells residents John and Laurie Condon. This past fall the Name That Restaurant contest submissions were considered by a pre-select team of judges at Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas and Spa, with the winning name, Lantana, submitted by the Condons. As winners, the Condons receive dinner for two each month for one year.

Lantana, a native desert flower, belongs to the verbena family and is found throughout the Coachella Valley. Lantana is cultivated for its dense, aromatic yellow and orange or blue and violet flowers.
