LA JOLLA, CA - Hotel Parisi has always been dedicated to reducing its Carbon Footprint by instilling many green practices throughout the hotel. This Zen-Elegant boutique hotel uses Energy Saving Bulbs, sky-lights, UV resistant glass to conserve heating and cooling, keycard activated light systems, and all bath products are organic and sulfide free and put in large reusable containers to reduce waste. All detergents and cleaners used in the hotel are environmentally friendly and all 100% cotton linens have the option to be reused during guests' stay. Low-pressure toilets and showers help to conserve water and the hotel recycles cardboard, newspaper, plastics, and glass daily. Now, through the cooperation of Renewable Choice Energy, Hotel Parisi is completely powered by Wind Energy.

Most of the electricity used in homes and business comes from fossil fuels, the leading air pollutant caused by industrial air pollution according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The U.S. Green Building Council estimates commercial and residential buildings account for 39% of all CO2 emissions. Hotel Parisi endeavors to reduce its impact on the environment and create a more sustainable future by partnering with Renewable Choice Energy. Since it would be impossible to connect directly with a wind farm in the center of downtown La Jolla; Hotel Parisi purchases renewable energy credits from wind farms to offset 100% of the electricity used. Wind power is a clean and renewable alternative to fossil fuels which use up the earth's natural resources and emits harmful greenhouse gases. This offset of energy is the equivalent of planting 1,616 mature trees or NOT driving 400,582 miles in an average car. Executive Vice President Sue Wagener informs "At Hotel Parisi we strive to be as environmentally conscious through all our choices and are very proud to be a green leader in the community by adding another effort to reduce our carbon footprint."
