Hotel Derek welcomes groups of up to 500 with 10,000 square feet of sophisticated event space, including the 360- to 500-capacity Bravo Ballroom. Some of Houston’s most prestigious neighborhoods surround the Hotel Derek, as does the George R. HOUSTON, TXThe Hotel Derek, Houstons benchmark for modern hotels, is catering to business travelers like never before. Located in the heart of the Galleria, Houstons world-class shopping, entertainment and business district, Hotel Derek recently added Business Lofts and an airline printing center to enhance the business travelers experience.

Topping the list of recent additions are the hotels Business Lofts, a set of compete business rooms offering separate living quarters and adjoining business alcoves. The business alcove is designed to provide a home office within the
hotel suite with a Texas-sized work desk, Dell PC, laser printer and premium stationery. The alcove is also stocked with a business tool box including scissors, calculator, paper clips, stapler and other essential work items. No detail has been overlooked with features like an iPOD and MP3 docking station, complimentary high-speed Internet access and wireless Internet, dual-line cordless telephones, in-room FedEx supplies, and brainteaser games. Loft
guests also receive a complimentary room service continental breakfast.

When business is complete, the Business Lofts offer a stylish yet calming retreat for the road warrior. Each loft was designed by Dayna Lee of Powerstrip Studios in Hollywood, California and appointed with sophisticated but luxurious
materials in a warm color palate. Lee created the rooms to be seamless and free of visual obstructions for the business traveler (i.e. a nearly invisible, glass desk). Comfort is key and ensured with a choice of firm or pillow-top mattresses, 100 percent goose-down duvets, rain showerheads, and LOccitane bath amenities.

To make the return trip more efficient, Hotel Derek has opened the Derek Airline Printing Kiosk. Guests enjoy complimentary access to the printing kiosk, conveniently located in the hotels lobby. The airline kiosk gives guests the ability to check-in online, print advance boarding passes and gather updates on departure times and gate locations.

Another new addition is the Preferred Customer Car Bath. The car wash is available upon request from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This service is available for $20 and may be arranged through the valet supervisor.

Frequent guests will also notice the addition of complimentary coffee service in the lobby. Coffee is served from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on weekdays and from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. during weekends.
