Art deco playfulness permeates Hotel Allegro Chicago, a Kimpton Hotel, a hip boutique property with a sense of mirthful purpose in the heart of the otherwise staid Chicago financial district. From the vibrant colors and theatricality of its clublike lobby to the giggle-inducing surprise amenities of its 483 guest rooms, including faux leopard- and zebra-print terry robes, pink grapefruit wall coverings, and Mr. Bubble for the Jacuzzi, Hotel Allegro celebrates joie de vivre.

When it comes to business meetings and corporate events, Hotel Allegro Chicago really puts on a show with 15 flexible event spaces, including the 400-capacity Walnut Ballroom. Special incentive packages for adults and kids cater to celebrity wannabes with in-room style makeovers, a chauffeured Hummer limousine, designer star swag bags, and even faux paparazzi for an authentic star turn.

The Allegro is a unique boutique hotel. The negative is they do not have their own restaurant. Off the lobby in the morning is a coffee bar serving a continental breakfast with very long lines. You then need to proceed carrying your food to a seat in the lobby. There are fabulous restaurants within walking distance, so do no let this be a deterrent.

Property was just so so. Meeting rooms were just sufficient. No restaurant attached to hotel. It's located on a off street on lower Wacker. Not where I would place guests until city is booked.
