Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
The Zagat Guide warns that anyone visiting The Grove Isle Hotel & Spa will want to stay forever. Coastal Living and Travel + Leisure rank it among the finest resorts in the world. Sequestered by the waters of Biscayne Bay off Coconut Grove, the boutique hotel and its 20-acre island offer a private world apart—a true sanctuary for meetings in Miami.
While the 50 guest rooms create a soothing Caribbean-colonial atmosphere from terra cotta tiles, canopied beds, sumptuous baths, and balconies beside the bay, similarly traditional appointments grace the conference center. Guests meet in more than 7,500 square feet of versatile indoor space, including a ballroom and three smaller breakout rooms. Outdoor venues take full advantage of the tropical landscape and panoramic bayside views. Catering draws on the talent at Gibraltar, the hotel’s signature restaurant focused on fresh, contemporary island-style cuisine.
For some guests, the major incentives start with the Spa at Grove Isle and its pampering treatments, yoga platform, and Watsu pool with
waterfall and whirlpool spa. Others gravitate to the 12-court Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center or the 85-slip marina—where the dock master arranges for water sports, bay cruises, and deep-sea fishing. The concierge books tee times at nearby courses and arranges for shopping, sightseeing, South Beach club hopping, and tickets to Miami’s nonstop whirl of sports and cultural events.

The staff at this hotel is truly amazing. Probably the best Banquet Staff I have ever worked with. We bought out the entire property. The location is superb.
Close enough to South Beach yet far enough away to be a very peaceful and quiet location.
Made us feel right at home!

I enjoyed my visit very much.I would like to particularly mention the professionalism of the Conference Services Manager—she knew our meeting very well and everything was perfectly managed.A particular thanks to the Banquet Manager for his daily attention and perfect timing regarding the catering. And I should not forget the rest of the banquet team. They were always ready to help. It's a wonderful team and they are all very nice people! Warm regards from sunny Europe!

Gay Holden is a Rock Star Sales Manager. This was by far the easiest contract to negotiate and implement. Gay was thorough and precise and her team went out her their way to accommodate my group once they were in-house. My client has had nothing but great things to say about this property; certainly a wonderful place for intimate meetings.

Have your next meeting or event on your own private Island!
Grove Isle Hotel & Spa in Miami, FL, located on it's own private island on Biscayne Bay connected by a bridge to Coconut Grove, completed a $2 Million renovation to the property in 2010. Included in the renovations were relocation of the main hotel restaurant ~ now called Gibraltar Restaurant and located right on the waterfront; expansion of Gibraltar Bar and other indoor function space, and the enlarged, covered open air Ship’s Deck for outdoor functions.
Upgrades to the entire pool deck included new exotic travertine tile, stylish wrought iron outdoor furnishings, and a new pool Tiki bar.
The Spa at Grove Isle was also enhanced with upgrades and soft goods, and a renewed array of Spa services are now available.
The Grand Ballroom was also included in the newest renovations, where the Ballroom foyer was opened to create easy access to the outdoor areas, and floor to ceiling glass windows were added to give guests a tranquil yet stunning view of beautiful Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Grove Isle Hotel & Spa: Miami Island Retreat

The biggest little secret in Miami just might be the Grove Isle Hotel and Spa. Situated at the tip of its own 20-acre island, this luxury resort offers understated elegance and privacy amid lush tropical vegetation and the glistening Biscayne Bay. It is such a hidden gem that even resident Miamians are often surprised to discover its charms.
Tucked among the palm studded property are 50 spacious guest accommodations all with balconies overlooking the bay. The low rise design feels more like a private residence harboring it's lucky inhabitants and you could be among them!
Your room awaits you with all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury resort, and then some. Property guests enjoy a sparkling outdoor swimming pool overlooking the Bay with a Hydro-Massage Whirlpool, an Island Beach Area with powder white sand and ultra comfy cabana and lounges. For some activity there's a scenic waterside walking/jogging path, a Patrick McEnroe Tennis Center with 11 Har-Tru Tennis Courts and one U.S. Open Hard Tennis Court, a boutique-style tennis shop, an 85-Slip Marina, and a state-of-the-art 6,000-square-foot fitness center.
The Spa at Grove Isle
Nothing could further enhance your experience of calm and repose at the hotel more than a treatment at The Spa at Grove Isle.
Along with the expert knowledge of The Spa at Grove Isle's professional staff therapists, the healing properties of flowers and spices are used liberally to enhance each spa experience. Indonesian, Thai and Balinese influences are also present in this organic oasis, which offers a full line of body treatments, salon services, facial care, spa rituals, and massage therapies. The Spa at Grove Isle is one of only five Watsu pools on the east coast. Treat yourself to a renewing experience that will last until your next visit.
Gibraltar Restaurant
Every dining experience from a casual lunch, to Sunday brunch, to an evening dinner is a special occasion at Gibraltar Restaurant. The indoor and outdoor dining venues offer unparalleled views of the bay. By day, the swaying palms and sparkling water, by night, the fiery torches, and glimmering lights from across the bay entice your appetite for the island cuisine of executive Chef Raphael Melendez.
He uses global island influences to inspire his dishes that are full of Florida flair. Sunday brunch with unlimited mimosas is presented buffet style with such uncommon items as steak with caramelized onions. Lunch menus are offered poolside, as well as bayside. Dinner at Gibraltar Restaurant is one of the most romantic venues in all of Miami. Tables are nestled in secluded outdoor nooks to maximize privacy. Strategically placed torches and candles add to the drama, mystique and romance.
The sound of the bay gently lapping and sensual mood music further set the scene. Many a proposal has been accepted over dinner in this exquisite location. But don't wait for a special occasion to enjoy the magic of Gibraltar Restaurant.
A Final Surprise
The property is graced with distinctive art and outdoor sculptures by internationally known artist Toby Heller of the Heller Estates Organic Winery. You can taste his wines at the Gibraltar Restaurant. At The Grove Isle Hotel and Spa, you are minutes away from the buzz of Coconut Grove, yet you can retreat to the secluded charms of this island paradise. No wonder its many repeat guests want to keep it a secret. You will too, once you've experienced it's allure.
