Average Rating: 8.33
The beds are very comfortable. The location in downtown Minneapolis is ideal, connecting by skyway to the target center and all of the other buildings as well. It is a hotel and not resort, so the activities and ratings are good for that limitation.

An ideal meeting hotel for a small to medium-sized group.
The group that met at this hotel are already talking about going back next year.
The contracting process was simple and efficient and conference services were on top of their game.

Graves 601 has been the site for our employee recognition galas for the past two years. We were so impressed with the hotel and your exceptional staff in 2006 that it was simply not a consideration to host the event anywhere else in 2007!

For Every Room Booked Under the Package, Graves Hospitality Corporation Will Donate the Cost of an Overnight Stay at a Local Shelter
Minneapolis, MN - October 2009 - Graves Hospitality Corporation, which owns and manages hotels nationwide, recently announced an overnight-stay, room package initiative called the "Giving Room," designed to give back to local communities. This room package caters to the growing number of socially conscious guests, and for each overnight stay booked under the "Giving Room" package, Graves Hospitality Corporation will donate the cost of an overnight stay for a homeless child or family in need at a local shelter. Every day, a limited number of packages will be available on each of the hotel's websites, based on availability, and they will be priced exactly the same as a comparable room without the package.
"It seemed that the whole business world had become too enmeshed in the current state of the economy, the uncertainty, the rising unemployment, and this package grew out of a need for us at the corporate level to change the focus and move our energies toward the positive," explained Ben Graves, president of Graves Hospitality Corporation. "These packages allow us to make a calculated and measurable improvement in the lives of children and families while empowering our guests to make the choice to make a difference," he continued.

Graves Hospitality Corporation Launches the ''Giving Room'' Package Designed to Give Back to the Local CommunityThe non-profit shelters in each community are selected specifically based on their ability to positively impact the lives of families and children in the areas surrounding each hotel. For example, committed to improving the lives of children in the Twin Cities community, the Graves 601 Hotel recently unveiled the "Giving Room" package and for every package sold, Graves Hospitality Corporation will donate one night of housing to a homeless child through the local non-profit, Perspectives, Inc.
The donation to the local shelter will be made in the hotel guest's name. Additionally, a concierge will be available at each hotel to provide additional information or arrange volunteer opportunities if guests have extra time and the desire to do more to make a difference.
Graves 601 Hotel Empowers Consumers Through an Industry Groundbreaking "PLACE A BID!" Room Rate Opportunity

Minneapolis, MN - May 2009 - In an effort to attract consumers and increase sales at the 255-room Graves 601 Hotel, the management team recently implemented an industry-leading initiative which allows patrons to directly utilize the hotel's website to place an online bid price for the duration of their stay prior to making a reservation. "The economy is in flux and we recognize that people are spending less now than they have in the past. This online bidding system empowers consumers and positively engages them in choosing where to spend their dollars," explained Ben Graves, president of Graves World Hospitality, the company that owns and manages the Graves 601 Hotel.
Graves 601 Hotel Empowers Consumers Through an Industry Groundbreaking ''PLACE A BID!'' Room Rate OpportunityThe "PLACE A BID!" option drives consumer traffic to the Graves 601 Hotel website by providing an opportunity to secure a room rate at a price that fits their budget. Patrons simply select their ideal dates of stay and then enter a bid amount for those nights. If the bid falls within the hotel's predetermined range of acceptability, the reservation is automatically confirmed. "By offering this directly, we pass savings on to our guests. We allow the market to tell us where the room rate should be," explained Scott Fischburg vice president, sales and marketing for GWH.
For the creation of the "PLACE A BID!" online feature, The Graves 601 Hotel teamed with Open Hospitality, an Internet marketing company. "When Graves approached us about this possibility, we immediately thought it made perfect sense and was well timed with the marketplace," explained Chris Wichers, executive vice president of Open Hospitality. "This is an exciting solution for an independent hotel to implement. It is very innovative to personalize the booking transaction directly to consumers in this way," he added. The Graves 601 Hotel sales team, in conjunction with Open Hospitality, plans to continuously hone and improve the online room bidding system in response to evolving consumer needs and expectations.
Consumer response supports the philosophy that fueled this sales initiative. Within the first seven days of a soft launching of the "PLACE A BID!" feature on the Graves 601 website, 73 reservation bids were placed and over 49% of those were accepted. Additional comments placed by one bidder regarding a family reunion led the sales team to secure a potential group sale including meeting space and food and beverage.
If the "PLACE A BID!" sales initiative continues on its anticipated path of success, Graves Hospitality plans to implement it on the websites of the other hotels it either owns or manages, including two projects under construction in Manhattan and Brooklyn and a newly opened hotel in the city of Celebration, FL.

Most Romantic Places to Stay for Romantic Getaways
By Lynn Walker
Yuppie " Young Urban Professional. This was the first thought I had as I walked into the graves 601 hotel. From the outside, the building resembles most of the other downtown buildings. Walk through the doors and find yourself surrounded by modern, sophisticated art and luxury, however, I still felt the warmth and comfort that I want to find when away from home. This is truly one of the most eclectic and artistic properties I have stayed at in my travels. Graves Hospitality launched this new hotel brand in 2005 and the Graves 601 Hotel in Minneapolis is their flagship hotel.
The hotel is a fusion of art, technology, luxury and warmth that has been achieved through sleek lines, neutral colors and soft furnishings accented with indirect or colored gel lighting. Guestrooms have all the technology that is needed to communicate in todays world with a wireless digital keyboard to control music, movies, and Internet access, a 42 plasma screen TV in the room and a 10 LED flat screen TV in the bathroom. All the luxuries from Egyptian cotton Frette duvets and linens, feather pillows, turndown service which includes bathrobes and slippers to the Hermes soap, the power shower featuring five body jets and rain shower and an exquisite glass washbasin perched on a limestone table, propel you into the 21st century. Even though you might want to just hang out in your room and enjoy all these conveniences, dont! Take a stroll downstairs to Cosmos the Four-Diamond fine dining restaurant and enjoy a gourmet feast along with an extensive wine list recognized by Wine Spectator magazine with its Award of Excellence.
Location, location, location! Graves 601 is in a prime location, directly across from the Target Center, the Theatre District one block away, and connected to some of the best shopping areas by skyway, so in the winter months you never have to step foot outside in that blustery cold weather! Enjoy your stay and if you are newlyweds, ask about the First Night package and check in to the Concert Suite- 2,000 square fee of luxury and a baby grand piano too!
