View RSS Feed Reunion, Fla. (March 27, 2008) " Five chefs from Floridas finest resorts will whip up a culinary feast during a three-day foodie experience at Ginn Reunion Resort.

The first Preferred Hotel Culinary Weekend, which takes place May 16 " 18, will assemble chefs from Florida resorts that are members of the Preferred Hotel brand.

The event is open to Ginn Reunion Resort members and guests. Details on cost, reservations and special package pricing will be available soon.

Ginn Reunion Resort Executive Chef Christian Schmidt, Ginn Hammock Beach Resort Executive Chef Steve Woodard, Casa Monica Hotel Executive Chef DeJuan Roy, Hawks Cay Executive Chef Johnny Alamilla and Marco Beach Ocean Resort Executive Chef Alberto Varetto will participate in the event.

Each chef will take part in a series of culinary events that include:

Evening of Decadence
7 to 9 p.m., Fri., May 16
Reunion Grande Lobby.
Chefs create one signature dish.

From the Kitchen
10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sat., May 17
Forte
Chefs lead a one-hour instructional cooking class with guests.

Preferred Top Chef - Florida Edition
4 p.m., Sun., May 18
Reunion Grande Ballroom
Chefs fashion recipes for a three-course meal in under an hour using one secret ingredient in a food competition.

A panel of judges " which will include several foodie personalities, Preferred Hotel executives and a celebrity host " will evaluate each chefs multi-course meal and choose the first Preferred Top Chef.
