Just six minutes from Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Dallas, Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center hosts groups with larger-than-life hospitality. “Texas-sized” describes everything about the Gaylord Texan, from the welcoming service to the 1,511 guest rooms, 400,000 square feet of meeting space, and the oversized spa, pool, and fitness center.

The resort centers on a self-contained world encompassing three glass atriums brimming with charming boutiques, cafes, and acres of lush gardens. The 400,000-square-foot high-tech convention facilities occupy a separate wing and feature three grand ballrooms and, at 180,000 square feet, the largest in-hotel exhibition facility in Texas. The Gaylord Texan’s location overlooking Lake Grapevine also affords opportunities for boating and fishing, plus 18-hole championship play at the adjacent Cowboys Golf Club.

The amenities are impressive and my team really enjoyed the hotel, but there were many frustrations in planning. There are too many people you have to work with and they will not assign one person to deal with the entire meeting. They are a bit overpriced for what they offer.

Good for large groups. Had done program previous to this at the Gaylord Palms - this property is very similar but had enhancements in the layout and space. Love the stacked meeting space and the natual light in the meeting area. Plenty of outlets on property to give attendees variety -- sports bar was over the top and you will definitely know where to find those people who go MIA on you! Love the Gaylord teal coats (CSMs) - they really help get things done. Only drawback is that if you want to do things off property, most attractions are going to be at least 30 minutes away. Plus is that the airport is convenient.

The resort is just a little large for my particular group, but I am going back there again in 2008. I prefer to find a resort that fits my program perfectly. They do a great job.

Great service....but too spread out...breakouts too far from general session area, guest rooms.

The conference service staff made this event smooth and seamless. While the location is somewhat outside of Dallas, the on property resort activities entertained the attendees and the atrium is a very beautiful and unique space within the hotel.
