MIAMI, Fla. – April 26, 2011 – Conrad Miami today announced it has named Philippe Thevenet as director of sales and marketing for the 203-room luxury hotel in Miami’s business and financial district. With more than 12 years experience in the hospitality industry, Thevenet will oversee the sales and marketing efforts for the hotel as well as manage a team of 10 sales, marketing and catering professionals.
Prior to joining Conrad Miami, Thevenet worked, since 2007, as director of sales and marketing at the Conrad Indianapolis, in Indiana. He began his career with InterContinental Hotels in Paris, France, and later moved to Montreal to begin his service with the Hilton Worldwide family. In October 1999, he moved to Chicago as sales manager at the Drake hotel, and in 2001, he became the hotel’s assistant director of sales. From 2002 to 2007, Thevenet took the helm as director of sales business travel and leisure for several Chicago properties including Hilton Chicago, Hilton O’Hare, Conrad Chicago, and Palmer House.

Award Recognizes Hotel’s Commitment to Local Community Children
MIAMI, Fla. – (July XX, 2011) – Conrad Miami’s career awareness curriculum for third grade students at the nearby Southside Elementary School has earned the hotel the Florida Commissioner of Education’s 2011 Business Recognition Award for Miami-Dade County. The hotel, which has participated in the state’s “KAPOW” (Kids and the Power of Work) program, received the award at a ceremony on June 9 in Tampa.
“We are honored that our efforts have been recognized by Florida Commissioner of Education Dr. Eric Smith, but truly, it is the remarkable young students, and their parents and family members, who deserve recognition for working so hard toward a better life for themselves and future generations,” said Martin Wormull, Conrad Miami’s general manager. “Children, as they say, are the future, and Conrad Miami is proud to do its part to make the future of our city better and brighter.”
For the past two years, Conrad has actively supported Southside Elementary School, located at 45 Southwest 13th Street, in Miami. Its efforts have included donating funds to buy much-needed school supplies and holiday gifts for the underprivileged and recruiting community members to participate, obtaining donations for silent auctions that benefit the school and help pay for special projects to provide additional resources, such as school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets and holiday gifts for the underprivileged.
“Southside Elementary Museums Magnet School’s stakeholders greatly appreciate our partnership with Conrad Miami and the meaningful positive impact the hotel is having on our students,” said Salvatore Schiavone, principal. “We are proud to count on Conrad Miami and pleased that the hotel received this well-deserved recognition.”

Hilton Worldwide Luxury Brands Debut Luxury Meetings Magazine at IMEX America

New Customized Resource, Created in Collaboration with Elite Meetings International, Offers Event Industry Comprehensive Access to the Hotel Properties and Capabilities
McLean, VA – (October 11, 2011) – Today, Hilton Worldwide Luxury Brands, in partnership with Elite Meetings International (EMI), announces the launch of Luxury Meetings magazine. This new group sales resource, which will be published annually, provides a comprehensive overview of Hilton Worldwide Luxury Brands’ properties capabilities to host meetings and events at the more than 40 existing and forthcoming locations in their Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts portfolios.
Debuting at IMEX America, a new global trade show for the worldwide meetings, events and incentive travel industry, this publication features property specifications and contact information with links to each hotel’s website and elitemeetings.com. Event planners can request additional information by contacting the hotel directly or by using EMI’s SpeedRFP™ “Request for Proposal” technology, which allows buyers to submit and manage their RFPs online at elitemeetings.com. In launching the magazine at IMEX America, more than 2,000 meetings and event buyers will be the first to view the resource and learn of the hotel brands’ unique luxury event offerings.
