Chateau Elan Winery & Resort

Chateau í‰lan Winery & Resort, located in the picture perfect small town of Braselton, Georgia, seems delightfully secluded. However, private transfers whisk guests to the Chateau from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in only one hour.

Zagat says the four-diamond property “has something for everyone.” Meeting planners usually agree. Chic guest rooms and suites feature French country decor and marble baths with oversized soaking tubs. The resort also boasts a culinary center, winery, eight restaurants, four golf courses, an equestrian center, tennis, and European-style spa. A 25,000 square foot Conference Center houses two sparkling ballrooms; each accommodating up to 750 guests. Nineteen meeting rooms and boardrooms round out the meeting space. And, on-site staff customizes an array of team-building events such as championship golf scrambles, group spa escapes, wine making and interactive cooking classes.

I was pleasantly surprised by this property. It is just 30 - 40 minutes outside of Atlanta but feels like a world away. Do not get your hope up when it comes to the wine - it is more of a novelty that they make wine (what can you expect from Georgia--red clay, after all). But I felt the accommodations, food and service were all great. The spa and golf courses were lovely as well. Overall I would recommend this site as a great retreat location.

This property needs a facelift. I love the outside ambiance but the rooms, restaurants and bars need to offer more.

This is a great property if you wan to be outside of Atlanta. They grow and bottle their own wine.

The variety of on-site and off-site activities is wonderful from road race team-building, winery tours and tastings, restaurant choices, golf, horseback riding, and the ropes course. The property was updated in 2007/2008 and the ballroom space has been upgraded with carpet, paint, and furnishings. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Banquet staff is attentive and available.

We returned to Chateau Elan in 2007 for our partner's meeting after a number of years. Our attendees were very pleasantly surprised with the property. The room renovation is amazing and the conference services staff provided superior service. The service level across the board was on par with any great resort.
