A location in the heart of historic Charleston, South Carolina, completes the air of antebellum charm at Charleston Place Hotel, a member of the Orient-Express family of hotels. A horse and carriage at the front entrance and a crescent staircase in the lobby introduce the hallmarks of Georgian-era refinement found throughout.
Twenty breakout rooms and six hospitality suites support truly grand meetings in the Grand Ballroom, while the art-deco Sottile Ballroom, amphitheater, and rooftop terrace contribute additional settings for groups across the street. Genuine South Carolina hospitality from the conference staff, combined with seamless professionalism, mirrors the standard found at every Orient-Express hotel.
Meanwhile, the 440 accommodations maintain the air of refinement with period-style furnishings, marble baths, and first-class amenities. Rooms and suites on the private-access top two floors cater to VIPs with private concierge service and complimentary food and beverage in the Club Level Lounge. Afternoon tea and tapas at the Thoroughbred Club, casual meals at the Palmetto Cafe, and an award-winning spa, health club, and rooftop pool welcome everyone between meetings, while the posh Charleston Grill fills nights with four-diamond Southern cuisine and mellow live jazz.
Additional free-time activities range from browsing the Shops at Charleston Place to touring landmark homes and plantations in the area. Museums, Fort Sumter, the South Carolina Aquarium, and Lowcountry golf and beaches all wait just a short drive away.
“I absolutely love the Charleston Place Hotel. The hotel and service levels are always above par. If I could, I would sell your property to every group I work on. Attendees loved it and could not believe what a great city Charleston is."

“We have never had better food or service at a national sales meeting in 15 years. Our Ultimate Platinum Dinner at the Riviera was simply the best. I can't ever remember a national sales meeting where something didn't go wrong, or someone didn't complain or was not unhappy. This one was flawless – and everyone was happy- quite an accomplishment when you consider how picky a bunch of hotel & restaurant sales people can be at times. We are probably the harshest critics in the world!

LOVED this property and the staff is terrific. The only obstacle is "getting there". I would recommend this property to anyone.

Staff very accommodating and always available to meet your requests and needs. Hotel reflects the southern hospitality of Charleston.
