Interiors by designer Michael Smith whisk guests away to the islands off the coast of Spain. Spanish tiles and Moroccan-themed antique textiles, plus lush plants, bubbling fountains, and a staff trained in the “we can at Canary” philosophy of service set a perfect stage for meetings. In the 97 guest rooms and suites, a neutral palette, accented by splashes of color, create veritable sanctuaries for relaxation.

The hotel's 5,000 square feet of meeting space proves equally luxurious. Five flexible function rooms host parties of 10 to 200 guests and feature a full range of audiovisual equipment—plus distinctly local themes: The Channel Island Conference Room exhibits Macduff Everton's stunning photography of area beaches and the Channel Islands. Another highlight: the rooftop terrace, aptly named The Perch. Here, groups can sip cocktails and take in 360-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands, and Santa Ynez Mountains.

Downstairs, Coast Restaurant & Bar takes its design cue from the oceanfront Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. Steps away, meeting participants take in the many attractions of Santa Barbara, including State Street's sophisticated shops, restaurants, art galleries, and numerous cultural treasures found throughout the city.
