Biltmore

Favored by celebrities since the 1920s, The Biltmore Hotel provides an oasis of privacy and tranquillity in the vibrant city of Coral Gables, Florida. The resort occupies a 150-acre tropical paradise with a renowned 18-hole golf course, tennis center, and America's largest hotel pool—all just minutes from South Beach and downtown Miami.

Principal group facilities reside in the world-class Conference Center of the Americas (CCA), including a grand ballroom and terrace overlooking the golf course plus two state-of-the-art amphitheatres. The main hotel building adds twin ballrooms—each with distinctive, historically significant decor—as well as a selection of breakout rooms. Technologically advanced systems are totally integrated between the CCA and the Biltmore to ensure a flawless experience.

A $40 million renovation brought upgrades to the 276 deluxe rooms and suites, along with a new poolside restaurant and bar, furnished cabanas with butler service, and a Zen-inspired spa featuring Chardonnay massages and a tranquil relaxation lounge. The 18-hole, Donald Ross–designed golf course reopened in November 2007 with 10 additional acres and improved fairways.

Poolside, year-round events keep groups entertained: Martini Mondays, Fashionable Wednesdays, live jazz on Thursdays, and a champagne Sunday brunch and pig roast. For fine dining, guests can create their own menus from over 20 tasting plates at Palme d'Or, rated by Zagat as “exceptional to perfection.”

The building is beautiful - historic, grand, a real WOW for guests. The management and conference services were uniformly pleasant, knowledgeable and effective. I thought the banquet service was slow and inattentive, more at the waiter and runner level. Also some back of the house functions like rooming list accuracy was not careful enough for me. Facilities, especially spa, beautiful. Rooms large and comfy. And of course the pool is just a show-stopper!
