Colonial style meets spectacular Caribbean beach at the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe, a sprawling water wonderland on the Riviera Maya near the ancient fortress at Tulum. Each of the 756 guest rooms and suites features a kitchenette, balcony/patio, satellite TV, and wireless Internet access. The meandering swimming pools form a unifying design element that connects the complex with illuminated fountains, gentle eddies, and a separate adult pool. The 4,500-square-foot spa expands upon Mayan themes with its relaxing temezcal steam bath, 25 massage rooms, floatation room, and hydrotherapy facilities.

Meeting planners make imaginative use of the Barcelo Maya corporate events facilities, which include 13 meeting halls and a 6,000-square-foot theater that seats 750. Sun-drenched incentives include tennis, archery, beach volleyball, and a wide variety of water sports from scuba to kayaking.
