Amway Grand Plaza Hotel

The Amway Grand Plaza Hotel combines the grandeur of the Gilded Age and the latest in four-diamond luxury. With one wing built between 1913 and 1916 by the designers of New York’s Grand Central Station, the former Pantlind Hotel and its modern 29-story Glass Tower center downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. A skywalk leads to neighboring DeVos Place Convention Center—an additional 250,000 square feet of meeting, trade show, and convention space that includes a 40,000-square-foot ballroom.

Within the hotel itself, planners have a choice of 42 conference rooms and reception areas. Highlights include the twin-tiered Imperial Ballroom—with its massive columns and grand staircase—and the intimate blue and gold domed chamber of the Gerald R. and Betty Ford Presidential Ballroom. Catering upholds the hotel’s reputation for some of the city’s finest dining. Executive amenities range from state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment to a full-service business center, spa and salon, and a health club with skylit pool and whirlpools, exercise equipment, racquetball, and tennis courts.

The accommodations include rooms and suites appointed in the classic style of the early twentieth century and others matching the Glass Tower’s contemporary style. In addition, planners enjoy the convenience of the same ownership and management coordinating the nearby JW Marriott Grand Rapids and Downtown Courtyard by Marriott as well. Altogether, the three sister hotels offer over 1,100 committable hotel rooms and 77,000 square feet of meeting space, allowing for one host, one contract, and one easy transaction.
Planner Reviews
Our guests truly enjoyed their stay in your hotel, and I heard many comments that your staff and facilities were among the best they had seen.

Conducted sales banquet for 224 agents and managers. All attendees stayed overnight. Hotel prepared ice sculpture with the company logo at no charge because of the amount of our f&b. Great value. Food was excellent. Rooms were exceptional. No complaints from the attendees. Some attendees extended their stay at their own expense. I would bring another group to the property.
